Printing

At K Graphics we offer a one stop solution for amazing marketing materials.  We saw a huge need to educate ourselves years ago in the printing industrty.  Besides the fact that we don’t want our hard work to be printed poorly, we want our clients to sit back and relax while we handle thier printing needs.  We have relationships with some of the best printers in the area and we know how to communicate with them to get the best in printing costs and products.

There have been many changes over the years in the world of printing and we feel it is worth posting some of those main channels that printing has gone in.  Below you will find helpful information on OFFSET VS. DIGITAL.  Take a moment to educate yourself along side us so that we can better serve you in the future.

OFFSET PRINTING VS DIGITAL PRINTING
Offset printing is the most common form of high-volume commercial printing, due to advantages in quality and efficiency in high-volume jobs. Digital printing is a new trend because of the lower cost to run smaller quantities but what you gain in less cost you lose in quality. Although digital presses are advancing rapidly on the quality aspect they do not guarantee color, if a job is color critical then digital printing is not suggested.

PROS of offset printing:

• Consistent high image quality; produces sharp and clean images.
• If colors are critical offset is the way you want to go.
• Quick and easy production of printing plates.
• Longer printing plate life than on direct litho presses because there is no direct contact between the plate and the printing surface.
• The more you print, the less you pay per page, because most of the price goes into the preparation undergone before the first sheet of paper is printing and ready for distribution. Any additional paper print will only cost the client paper price (and ink), which is very minimal.

CONS of offset printing:

• While offset can’t be beat most of the time on quality, cost is still considerably higher then digital unless high quantities are ordered.
• To take advantage of the best price, higher volumes of product must be printed.

PROS of digital printing:

• Very cost effective and competitive.
• Lower quantities are available for less.
• Fast turnaround time.

CONS of digital printing:

• Digital printers do not guarantee color.
• Lower quality of inks, and paper.
